Cynthia A. Lassonde, Ph.D., a former elementary teacher, is associate professor of Elementary Education and Reading at State University of New York (SUNY), Oneonta. She is active with the International Reading Association (IRA) where she chairs the Teacher as Researcher subcommittee and also serves as a member of the New York State English Council’s Standing Committee on Teacher Inquiry. She presents on teacher inquiry and research practices at education conferences and works with schools and districts regionally to promote teacher learning communities.
