Judith A. Muschla received her B.A. in mathematics from Douglas College at Rutgers University and has taught mathematics in South River, New Jersey, for over twenty-five years. At South River Middle School she helped revise the mathematics curriculum to reflect the Standards of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), coordinated interdisciplinary units, and conducted mathematics workshops for teachers and parents. A recipient of the 1990-91 Governors Teacher Recognition Program award in New Jersey, she was named the 2002 South River Public School District Teacher of the Year. Along with teaching and writing, she has been a member of the state Standards Review Panel for the Mathematics Core Curriculum Content Standards in New Jersey.
